Leah Ray(Xiayi Lei) is a vision designer based in San Francisco, bridging multiple disciplines with a core focus on impactful graphic design.
With an educational foundation in Industrial Design from Donghua University, Leah is expanding her design education as an MFA Design student at California College of the Arts. Her academic experiences have equipped her with a broad palette of skills and a deep understanding of design's potential to influence and communicate. Since embarking on her design journey in 2017 as an independent graphic designer, Leah has cultivated a diverse portfolio, including over 240 book covers and visual contributions to the gaming industry as a visual designer for Paper Games.
Leah's design philosophy centers on the synergy between visual appeal and intellectual engagement, believing that true innovation arises from crossing the boundaries between different genres, fields, and cultures. This approach has not only shaped her contributions to the gaming industry, mainly through her work on "Mr. Love: Queen's Choice," but also informed her role as a Teaching Assistant, where she mentors aspiring designers on the importance of critical thinking and creative exploration in design.
Looking forward, Leah seeks roles that allow her to blend her graphic design expertise with her passion for multidisciplinary projects. Her vision for the future includes personal advancement and a commitment to pushing the boundaries of what design can achieve, making each project a testament to the transformative power of design. When not working on a design project, Leah enjoys taking photos and practicing handwritten letterforms through calligraphy.
In every endeavor, Leah Ray embodies the essence of a designer who is not content to stay within the confines of traditional design but is constantly seeking to explore and integrate diverse disciplines into her work. Her career is a beacon for the transformative potential of design, driven by a relentless pursuit of innovation, intellect, and aesthetics.
